This year, the Singapore Art Book Fair is getting cosy – in the best possible way.

For its 14th edition, ‘SGABF2026: smaller edition’ is taking a more intimate approach, bringing together 43 exhibitors, exhibitions and hands-on programmes at T:>Works from August 28 to 30, all centred around the theme of ‘scale’. And here's one of the biggest changes to look forward to this year: every exhibitor table will be fitted with wheels, meaning the floor plan can and will shift throughout the fair.

What is it?

Organised by Thing Books, SGABF is an annual celebration of art books, artist publications and zines, championing the book as a creative medium in its own right. This year's edition is also extra special as it was developed in collaboration with creative directors, Atelier HOKO.

When is it happening?

The 2026 edition runs from August 28 to 30, from 12pm to 7pm, at T:>Works, 72-13 Mohamed Sultan Road. The move to a smaller venue sees the fair drop from more than 150 exhibitors in its previous edition to 43 this year, with the organisers prioritising the relationships between visitors, exhibitors and the space between them.

What should I look out for?

The 43-strong line-up is a solid mix of newcomers and long-time participants, bringing together independent publishers, artists and collectives from Singapore and beyond, with a particular focus on Asia. Singapore exhibitors include Thumb Books, In Plain Words, Street Report, and Your Local Newsstand, alongside international names such as Tokyo Art Book Fair, Bangkok Art Book Fair, Tara Books, Perimeter Editions and Good Neighbour/Manifold Books.

Beyond the books themselves, there’s a whole programme designed to make you do more than just shuffle from table to table. Take part in the activity ‘Goldilocks’, where each of the fair’s 43 exhibitors has created one page inspired by a line from Goldilocks and the Three Bears. Pick and choose individual pages for $1 each, or collect all 43 and bring them to the Binding Station to make your own complete copy of the book.

There’s also ‘Fold Fold Fold’, an exhibition by The Other Workroom examining folding as a starting point for thinking about books; ‘Your Book’, which turns zines made by visitors into an exhibition; and ‘Radio Radio Radio’, a live broadcast of conversations, interviews and music recorded from the fair.

There’s also a segment titled ‘The Walkers’ where exhibitors can roam around the venue with mobile contraptions while continuing to show visitors their books.

How do I get tickets?

Tickets are $8 and are sold by timeslot, with each ticket admitting one person. Online ticket sales close on August 27, at 11:59pm. You can purchase them here.

Time Out Tip: We recommend getting your tickets online – given the reduced capacity at this year’s venue, on-site tickets are subject to availability and are not guaranteed.
