Don’t panic, Pokémon trainers, but Singapore’s Pokémon Centre at Jewel Changi Airport – the first official Pokémon Centre outside Japan – is about to hit the pause button. Starting April 1 2026, the store will temporarily close for a major overhaul.

The good news is that it won’t be gone for long, with its reopening set for Q3 2026. And we definitely think it’s worth the wait: after the glow-up, you can expect the store to sport a fully localised theme. Think heritage-inspired interiors, design cues lifted straight from everyday local life, and a wider range of merchandise than before, including Singapore-exclusive limited edition products.

If you’re a devoted trainer who’s been using the Pokémon Centre Singapore as the unofficial HQ since it opened, here’s somewhere to go in the meantime. For the three months the centre is closed, Pokémon pop-up stores will set up at Jewel Changi Airport (from April 1) and Plaza Singapura (from April 6). You can still snag official merch, stay plugged into the Pokémon universe, and even revisit some fan-favourite touchpoints. And yes, there’s even a brand-new symbolic Pokémon in the making, specially created to embody the unique charm of Singapore.

So, stay tuned here for more updates. And don’t forget to keep an eye on Pokémon Centre Singapore’s website and Instagram for sneak peeks and the full rundown of what to expect when the doors swing open again.
