No need to cross the border for a taste of soupy, seafood-filled goodness – Malaysia’s Michelin-approved noodle chain Hai Kah Lang is setting up shop in Singapore. This is the F&B brand’s first overseas outpost, slated to occupy a unit at Funan.
At present, the fish noodle specialist has eight outlets in Malaysia, with the closest one to us located along Jalan Sutera in Johor Bahru. The rest are mostly clustered within Kuala Lumpur, with the original outlet, located in Taman Cheras, starting as a humble roadside eatery three years ago.
Having received the Michelin Bib Gourmand award consecutively in 2022, 2023, and 2024, Hai Kah Lang is known for its noodle soup bowls topped with your choice of fresh catch like leopard coral grouper, common parrotfish, Spanish mackerel, squid and more. Those who seek the best of all worlds tend to go for its famed mixed seafood noodles, which come with a heaping of fish, prawns, crab, and clams.
In Malaysia, you can opt for the regular broth to be switched up to milk soup, tomato soup, curry, or tom yam. Dry or porridge versions are also available. Hopefully, Singapore’s debut outlet will also offer similar flexibility.
Hai Kah Lang is to be located at #01-15 of Funan, directly connected to City Hall MRT station. According to CapitaLand, the eatery is expected to open in September 2025. Look out for more updates via Hai Kah Lang Singapore’s Instagram page.
