Dover Street Market, the avant-garde retail concept founded by Comme des Garçons' Rei Kawakubo, just got a whole lot roomier. In February, the Dempsey outpost expanded into a bright, woody 2,600 sq ft wing formerly occupied by Italian restaurant Como Cuisine, bringing the total space to about 14,925 sq ft.

The new wing showcases five luxury brands – Lemaire, Our Legacy, Thom Browne, The Row, and Phoebe Philo – each with its own carefully designed space.

Phoebe Philo, the ex-Céline creative director famed for transforming the brand into a cult minimalist powerhouse in the 2010s, has her namesake label tucked into a semi-private corner with its own little doorway and full-length windows – a shop-within-a-shop concept first launched in London in November 2024. Singapore is now the second of Dover Street Market’s eight global locations to adopt it.

French brand Lemaire also joins in with its signature understated stance, letting subtle touches – like an Italian-sourced Enzo Mari chair casually leaning against the wall – do the talking.

Meanwhile, The Row keeps things minimal: pale wooden plinths on a black carpet showcase bags and shoes, with two slim rails of clothes by Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen completing the setup.

The expansion also includes Bag Space, General Space, and a relocated boombox-themed Stussy area. Special installations by Rei Kawakubo’s Comme des Garçons and London-based Renli Su also sit alongside store-exclusive items – sterling nail designs by Manila’s 13 Lucky Monkey (from $230) and a T-shirt from local print studio Knuckles & Notch ($88).

The expanded Dover Street Market is located at 18 Dempsey Road, open daily from 11am to 8pm.
