The Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team shared photos on their Instagram account of Stoll at Lester’s Deli in Outremont, smiling and looking relaxed ahead of the big race weekend.

Montreal-Trudeau Airport is heading into major construction and it’s going to get messy

On the heels of Montreal-Trudeau Airport (YUL) named cleanest airport in North America in 2025, YUL just made an announcement that’s anything but.  Montreal-Trudeau Airport has officially kicked off a major renovation phase, with construction and expansion projects now underway.  According to Aéroports de Montréal, the extensive work will continue into the 2030s, affecting nearly every part of the airport, from roadways and runways to parking lots. Major projects are on the horizon at YUL to keep pace with rising passenger demand and significant business growth.  By 2028, travellers can expect expanded local parking, a new satellite jetty, revamped drop-off zones, the opening of the REM station, and the demolition of the current multi-level garage.  When will the Montreal-Trudeau Airport construction be finished? The full vision, set to wrap up by 2035, includes additional parking and drop-off areas and a major terminal façade expansion. Photograph: Shutterstock / JHVEPhoto Planning a trip soon? Travellers, be warned. Montreal-Trudeau shared a statement in this Facebook post, comparing the project to an airport-sized kitchen renovation:  "We’re not going to sugarcoat it: the next few years at YUL are going to be a puzzle. Like renovating your kitchen while still living in your house, but airport-sized. But don't worry, we'll get through it together, step by step, piece by piece. I waited in line for over 30 minutes for Montreal's best baguette and it was worth it

I spotted the line in front of this neighbourhood bakery from about a block away. Snaking its way along Monkland Avenue, a queue of bread-lovers waited patiently outside the newly-christened home of Montreal’s best baguette. When it comes to bread in its many forms, whether we’re talking about bagels, baguette and anything else on a bakery shelf, Montreal has us covered. From Mile End’s bakeries to Verdun’s breakfast spots, the city is an embarrassment of riches when it comes to hot bread right out of the oven.  The 2025 edition of the Best Baguette in Montreal competition organized by Maudits Français and the Union Française, celebrates the beloved baguette and the Montreal’s bakers who make them. This year’s finalists? Automne Boulangerie, De Froment et de Sève, Joe la Croûte, L’Amour du Pain, La Meunerie Urbaine, Les Co’Pains d’abord, Ô Petit Paris, and Le Toledo all brought their very best baguettes. Turns out, waiting in line at La Meunerie Urbaine is actually kind of a pleasure.  Outside, the terrasse is all Adirondack chairs, potted plants and benches. And inside is a sleek mix of white painted brick and wood panelling the colour of golden loaves.

New STM service update: clarification issued regarding service hours

New STM service update: clarification issued regarding service hours

Just in time for Grand Prix weekend, frustrated commuters were locked out when they arrived seemingly on time at metro stations across the city this week. In order to address the train departure confusion during the metro and bus strike, the STM has issued a clarification regarding the difference between “end of service” and “last train departure”. When is the metro’s end of service during the STM strike? During the first phase of the strike, the STM announced metro service would run from 6:30 a.m. to 9:38 a.m., then pause until the afternoon rush. 9:38 a.m. marks the end of service (not the last train departure) which has led to frustration this week as commuters arrived too late. According to a press release issued by the STM, the stations close as the final train completes its run, often before the end of the essential service window. Still confused? Here is an example: Montmorency bound The last train departing from Côte-Vertu métro station, toward Montmorency, is scheduled for 8:48 a.m. This train arrives at Bonaventure station at 9:07 a.m. This is the last departure from Bonaventure toward Montmorency. The train continues and ends its service at 9:34 a.m. at its terminus, which is Montmorency station. Côte-Vertu bound The last train departing from Montmorency station, toward Côte-Vertu, is scheduled for 8:53 a.m. This train arrives at Bonaventure station at 9:19 a.m. This is the last departure from Bonaventure toward Côte-Vertu. The train continues and ends its service

A strawberry moon will light up Canadian skies tonight

A strawberry moon will light up Canadian skies tonight

Get ready for a rare skywatching moment that won’t return until 2043. On the heels of April's Pink Moon, June’s full moon—commonly called the Strawberry Moon (a name derived from Native American cultures to mark the ripened strawberry)—will be on display this evening. Bonus? The already low June moon will appear even lower due to the Feat Lunar Standstill. Smoky Canadian skies could give this Strawberry Moon a reddish hue. What is a Great Lunar Standstill? The Great Lunar Standstill happens roughly every 18.6 years, when the northernmost and southernmost moonrise and moonset are furthest apart. The celestial happening is visible to the naked eye under clear skies. When can I see the Strawberry Moon? Peak illumination will occur at 3:44 a.m. EDT on Wednesday, June 11, 2025. How can I see the Strawberry Moon? If you want to see the Moon looking especially large, head outside around sunset and look to the eastern horizon.  Or, if you're an early riser, catch it setting in the west before sunrise. In both cases, the Moon will appear unusually big thanks to the Moon Illusion.
