It’s been a big week for this Montreal neighbourhood.

According to a report by the Montreal Gazette, a sales deed has confirmed that the former Canadian prime minister has purchased the home on the base of Mount Royal for $4.26 million.

Where is Trudeau's house in Montreal?

The deed to a two-storey, single-family home in Outremont dating to the 1930s notes that he has not yet moved in.

The report states that the deed was notarized and officially registered with Quebec’s land registry on Monday, February 9, 2026.

The deed lists Trudeau as the sole purchaser of the Outremont property, and real estate documents indicate that he and Sophie Grégoire are currently in the process of divorcing.

He has been dating U.S. singer Katy Perry since 2025, a relationship confirmed on social media in December, 2025.

Trudeau and Grégoire lived in Outremont in the early years of their marriage, and he represented the Montreal riding of Papineau from 2008 until his departure from politics in 2025.

Pierre Trudeau’s former residence was on Pine Avenue, just a few blocks north of Sherbrooke Street West — recently ranked one of the coolest streets in the world.

Comedian Léa Stréliski recently posted on social media that she spotted Justin Trudeau and Katy Perry at one of our favourite restaurants in Montreal, also located in Outremont.

The restaurant, Leméac, is also known for serving a killer brunch—including a killer pain perdu (one of the best desserts in the city).

This is all after Trudeau shared a meal with the singer at Le Violon this summer, a restaurant in the city’s Plateau neighbourhood that was recently crowned one of the coolest neighbourhoods in the world.
