Trader Joe’s fans love a limited time offering. From seasonal snacks to cult-favorite sauces, the brand’s followers have a way of turning everyday grocery runs into treasure hunts. And nothing captures that obsession quite like the store’s mini canvas totes.

Now, just in time for spooky season, the beloved bags are back—with a Halloween twist. As of this week, Trader Joe’s stores have stocked up on the mini totes in festive shades of black, orange, purple and a new multicolored option. Each tote goes for $2.99, measures about 13 inches long, 11 inches tall and 6 inches wide, and fits somewhere between “grab-and-go” and “just enough room for a bottle of wine and a snack.” They’re not made for a week's worth of goodies, but they’re perfect for smaller errands, daily essentials or as the most sought-after trick-or-treat bag on the block.

If past launches are any indication, expect these bags to fly off the shelves. When the mini totes first hit stores in March 2024, fans went into full frenzy mode. TikTok clips showed lines snaking through parking lots, with employees setting purchase limits as shoppers filled carts. The hype got so wild that resellers started flipping the $3 totes for hundreds of dollars online, with listings reaching up to $500 on eBay and Facebook Marketplace.

Trader Joe’s wasn’t amused. The company publicly called out resellers, noting that the practice was “done without our approval or authorization.” In true TJ’s fashion, they emphasized that they don’t support reselling and do what they can to stop it.

This time around, stores are reportedly limiting purchases to four bags per customer, which means you can snag one in every Halloween color.

Whether you’re a loyal tote collector or just looking for a reusable bag with a bit of festive flair, Trader Joe’s latest drop proves that even a grocery store can make Halloween a little more stylish.
