New York proves to be a heavyweight yet again, with several other spots moving up the top 50 ranks.

Warning: controversial pizza opinions ahead. America is a pizza paradise—between New York, Chicago and Los Angeles, how can we not be?—and yet it was our across-the-pond brethren that surprisingly came out on top of a new global 'za ranking.
Celebrating international pie excellent, the 50 Top Pizza world rankings have officially dropped for 2026 and while London’s Napoli on the Road earned the coveted top overall spot, homegrown pizzerias put up a strong showing. The U.S. secured 22 spots on the full list, led by four powerhouse pizza destinations in the global top ten.
Holding strong at number two overall is New York City’s Una Pizza Napoletana. Founder Anthony Mangieri has maintained an uncompromising 30-year devotion to his craft, foregoing traditional apps and other menu fluff to focus purely on the pie. Judges praised the restaurant's signature soft, airy dough and aromatic presentation. Every slice is topped with curated Union Square market produce and premium Italian tomatoes. Up front, general manager Christina Tobia Mangieri hosts the dining room with warmth, delivering an experience rooted in vision, coherence, and total integrity.
Moving up into a joint number five finish are two West Coast heavyweights: Pizzeria Sei in Los Angeles and Tony's Pizza Napoletana in San Francisco. Bringing Tokyo-style and Neo-Neapolitan precision to L.A., the intimate, counter-focused Pizzeria Sei impressed judges with its minimalist layout. High-hydration dough and extended fermentation yield a crust that is remarkably light, crisp and airy. Judges highlighted the deliberate, balanced toppings that blend fine Italian ingredients with subtle Japanese influences, served alongside an equally thoughtful wine program.
Powered by seven distinct ovens and eleven regional pizza styles, Tony Gemignani's Bay Area institution earned high praise for versatility and technical mastery built over three decades. Inspectors commended the kitchen's execution and noted that despite intense popularity, the service remains smooth, welcoming and rooted in a comfortable family atmosphere.
Rounding out the U.S. top-ten elite is Jersey City’s Razza, which made a massive leap from number 69 all the way to number 10. Newly-expanded, this pizzeria features long fermentation dough, seasonal produce, local cheeses and condiments made in-house.
Together, these spots showcase the depth of American pizza culture. New York dominated the national lineup with seven featured pizzerias, but as the judges made clear, world-class dough-craft is thriving from coast to coast.
