This year marks the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks, so Disney is pulling out all the stops for a commemoration that’ll be streamed live for the first time from the Tribute in Light beams in New York City.

The hour-long program, “9/11 Tribute in Light: Live from Lower Manhattan,” will air on Friday, September 11, at 8pm EST—and Grammy, Emmy and Tony Award-winning singer-songwriter (and native New Yorker) Cyndi Lauper is set to perform at the moving memorial.

The Brooklyn-born legend will be joined by Lainey Wilson and John Ondrasik of Five For Fighting as they perform at the base of the beams. (The annual commemorative public-art installation "Tribute in Light" has illuminated the New York City skyline every September 11 since 2002.)

Lauper, who is known for iconic hits such as “Time After Time,” “True Colors” and “Girls Just Want to Have Fun,” said she was outside the city the morning of the attacks and was desperate to get back to her family—a luxury she acknowledges was not afford to a lot of people at the time.

“I’m grateful to be a part of the 9/11 Tribute in Light,” she says in a statement. “It’s hard to believe that it’s been 25 years. Like so many of us, I feel like it was just yesterday. I am honored to sing for them, those that we lost, and the families and friends who remain, and for my city. We will never forget.”

The program, in partnership with the 9/11 Memorial & Museum, will be hosted by World News Tonight anchor David Muir, Good Morning America co-anchor Robin Roberts and anchor Diane Sawyer.

Tune in at 8pm EST on Disney+, ABC, Hulu, National Geographic, ABC Owned Television Stations livestreams and ABC News Live.
