Frantzén’s restaurant concept is coming to Malmö

In the restaurant world, Björn Frantzén is a global rock star, known for his extraordinary talent. He is the only person in the world to run three restaurants with three Michelin stars each, one in Stockholm and the other two in Singapore and Dubai respectively.

Brasserie Astoria is a more accessible affair: a modern take on a luxurious French brasserie that could be a good fit for Malmö’s more laid-back restaurant scene.

It sits just below fine dining: there won’t be any tasting menus, but there will be an extensive à la carte menu. At other restaurants in the same chain, the menu features plenty of French classics such as moules frites and steak frites, alongside flavours from entirely different cuisines.

Västra Station, which is more than 250 years old, is located between the newly renovated Börshuset, home to the restaurants Como and Margaux, and Saluhallen, which in recent years has become a go-to option for a luxurious weekend lunch.

Brasserie Astoria is expected to open in 2027.
