What is it? A Parisian-style steak frites concept from Hong Kong with stellar steaks, unlimited fries and desserts that hit the spot.

Why we love it: Steak frites. It doesn’t get better – or more straightforward – than that. The cosy interiors at La Vache! are enough to put you in a festive mood. Think gorgeous red leather banquettes, checkered tablecloths reminiscent of a Parisian brasserie and warm wooden furnishings all over. There’s just one thing on the menu: the steak frites set, which comes with bread and butter, house salad, 280 grams of USDA Double Gold ribeye, and free-flow beef fat fries. Desserts are rolled out in grandiose fashion, with a display trolley of house-made pastries and weekly rotating specials, from vanilla ice cream-stuffed profiteroles and fig tarts to raspberry millefeuille and gelato from the cult-favourite Aussie brand Messina.

Time Out tip: Careful not to load up too early on the free baguettes and salad, and save space for the ribeye slabs. Complete the experience with a glass of house red to wash down each bite. And if you find the fries too salty, fret not, as the team brings around freshly fried batches with less seasoning for those who prefer it.
