“Hallelujah” to this one. Olivier Award-winning production Jesus Christ Superstar is making its rounds across the world after sold-out runs in London, and Singapore’s Marina Bay Sands' Sands Theatre is on the list of stops. Coming to us in August 2026, the revival of this hit musical – which debuted on Broadway and in London in the 1970s – features a heavenly rock opera soundtrack by legendary duo Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber.
Told through the perspective of Judas Iscariot, the man who betrayed Jesus, the story follows Jesus's last seven days on earth before crucifixion, and navigates the complexities of the relationships and conflicts between Jesus, Judas, prostitute Mary Magdalene, and the other disciples – with central themes of betrayal and faith.
