Take a swing for as little as $6 for 20 pitches

Think you’ve got a decent swing? Now you can put that to the test at iBat by Urbanytes, Singapore’s first rooftop batting cage. The venue has just opened its doors at SAFRA Tampines, right beside the tennis and pickleball facilities.
The open-air facility features automated batting lanes for both baseball and softball, making it suitable for first-timers looking to get a feel for the sport as well as more experienced players wanting to work on their technique.
For a sport that has traditionally struggled with access to dedicated practice spaces here, the new facility is rather significant. A check online shows that the only other public batting cage in Singapore appears to be operated by The Cage at its Dempsey outlet, giving players another option for getting some batting practice in.
For newbies, an introductory session of 20 pitches costs $6 for SAFRA members and $8 for guests, with each round consisting of 10 pitches. That works out to just 30 cents a pitch for members – not too shabby for a new activity.
The facility is already looking beyond casual batting sessions, too. iBat says it plans to introduce training and coaching programmes for children aged 12 and below through collaborations with qualified coaches, potentially giving younger players a more structured route into the sport.
iBat is open 10am to 10pm on weekdays, and 8am to 10pm on weekends and public holidays. Participants must be 13 years old and above; those aged 18 and over need to sign a waiver, while 13- to 17-year-olds require parental consent.
