It’s time to step away from your digital playlists and discover music the old-fashioned way through crate digging at Side A, A Singapore Record Show. Returning to Suntec for its third edition on October 24, this year’s event brings together 37 vendors, live music and plenty of physical music.

Local record label and vinyl distributor Mosta Records is behind the fair. Founded by Azri Ali and Afidah A Manaf, it first made its name with a shop at Peninsula Shopping Centre before expanding into vinyl distribution across Southeast Asia and beyond. It also holds authorised dealer status for Third Man Records, Jack White’s label, making it the regional home for releases from the imprint behind The White Stripes frontman’s solo work and other artists. Side A extends that same mission: keeping physical music in circulation and giving collectors, labels and music fans a place to meet in real life.

Expect plenty to sift through at the fair, from rare and pre-loved vinyl to CDs, cassettes, posters, merchandise and other music memorabilia. New names joining the lineup this year includeIndonesian sellers SRM/Heyfolks and Lamunai Records, as well as Universal Music Singapore, bringing releases from one of the world’s biggest music companies.

Among the returning vendors, you can expect Mosta Records, the local label and vinyl distributor behind the fair, alongside Vinyl Kaki, a Singapore-based record seller with a wide selection of vinyl. There’s also Ronggeng Records, a treasure trove known for its rare Southeast Asian and Indonesian records, and Redpoint Records, a longstanding local record store offering a mix of rock, pop, jazz and classical records, alongside new and pre-loved vinyl. For something beyond music, Cosmic Rays Comics & Records combines records with comics and pop-culture finds, making it another stop worth browsing.

Collectors can also get their hands on records from a rather special personal stash: Philip Cheah, co-founder of Singapore music magazine BigO, will be putting selections from his own collection up for sale publicly for the first time.

The music doesn’t stop at the record bins, either. Vinyl DJ sets will run throughout the day, alongside live acoustic performances from musicians from Singapore and the region. There will also be listening sessions and demonstrations featuring turntables, speakers and other audio equipment, plus displays from private collectors.

Side A runs from 11am to 7.30pm across Halls 324-326 at Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre.
