Until now, the Disney Adventure Cruise has kept its Singapore sailings firmly at sea, with passengers spending their three or four nights onboard rather than making a scheduled shore stop. However, things are about to change.
From December 31, selected four-night departures will make a day stop for a little island-hopping. The Malaysian island will appear on day three of the itinerary, while the rest of the trip remains largely at sea.
If you ask us, Langkawi is a fitting addition for a Southeast Asian voyage. Think turquoise waters, limestone formations and lush rainforest. The island chain also holds Southeast Asia’s first-ever UNESCO Global Geopark status, with a geological history stretching back over half a billion years.
For those who prefer their holidays neatly packaged, Disney will also offer Port Adventures – which are organised shore excursions – in Langkawi. Options are listed on the Disney Cruise Line website, with bookings available online, through the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app or onboard.
There is, naturally, a price for this little escape. A four-night Disney Adventure sailing without a port stop in January 2027 starts from $1,620 per person, while one that calls at Langkawi starts from $1,915. The extra $295 covers the additional port charges, taxes and fees involved in docking there.
The Disney Adventure is no modest little ferry, either. Disney Cruise Line’s eighth and largest ship can accommodate up to 6,700 passengers across 20 decks, with seven themed areas designed to keep the Disney magic going long after you’ve lost sight of Singapore.
