Good news for caffeine loyalists and carb chasers alike: Tim Hortons Singapore has just ticked a very important box. The popular Canadian coffee shop is now officially halal-certified. This marks yet another big-name chain joining the halal-certified list, following the recent certification of Paris Baguette.

The green light comes courtesy of Majlis Ugama Islam Singapura, with halal certification confirmed across all existing outlets islandwide. The timing couldn’t be neater either, landing just as Ramadan gets underway.

Tim Hortons first touched down in Singapore back in November 2023 with its debut outlet at VivoCity, and it’s been steadily multiplying since. Fast-forward to now, and you’ll find the chain dotted across the island, from heartland malls to city-centre favourites, serving up a steady stream of coffee, baked treats and savoury bites.

If you’re unfamiliar, Tim Hortons basically serves Canadian comfort food in a café setting. Founded in 1964, the brand has grown into a global giant with over 6,000 outlets worldwide. Locally, it’s best known for its bite-sized Timbits, unapologetically sweet tarts and cakes, frosty Iced Capps, and those grilled sandwiches engineered for maximum cheese pull.
