"Leonardo what’s your story", an exhibition for the whole family to mark the 500th anniversary of the passing of the artist and Renaissance man Leonardo da Vinci, which sheds light on Leonardo, who is considered by many to be the most curious man in the world. The exhibition presents over 40 displays and installations in various subjects, including anatomy and the human body, botany and geology, aviation, mechanics, optics and drawing. The exhibits are mostly interactive and invite visitors to ask questions and experiment. Alongside the exhibition, there will be a variety of activities for parents and children, such as a flying machine building workshop, guided tours, and an experience workshop. The international Art & Dolls Expo will be held in Jerusalem for the first time, and will feature dozens of spectacular works by leading artists from Eastern Europe, the US and Israel Doll by Galina Dmitruk, Belarus The exhibition will include various dolls, including Victorian characters from England, a series of powerful women, bible female characters and beautiful 21st century women hinge dolls. A special area will be dedicated to Teddy bears, a charming project that presents teddy bears as more than just another doll for children; and in a space that would be dedicated to art there will be an exhibition of paintings by contemporary artists from Israel and Russia, created especially for the exhibition. Doll by Naomi Ocean The curator and planner of this exhibition, is the international dolls artist Svetlana Pchelnikova, who will show rare dolls from her private collection, in an exhibit called “The Tsar Dolls”. The exhibition will be displayed in the unique space of the Sergei courtyard in the Russian Compound, giving the entire exhibition an aristocratic atmosphere of the 19th century. The Old Yishuv Court Museum, located in the Jewish Quarter, opens fall season with an exhibition called “From Crisis to Revival – The Story of the Old City Evacuees”, which tells the story of the residents and fighters of the residents of the Jewish Quarter in 1947. They lived under siege, and then, overnight, became refugees. There will be a video and testimonies. The museum also offers permanent exhibitions and a variety of activities for the whole family. During Sukkot (October 15-17) there will be guided tours in the exhibitions, and during the "Jerusalem Pictures" event there will be a theatrical event in which you can meet various Jerusalem characters. As part of the exhibition, there will be an evening seminar held called "Days of Austerity" (November 27), which will look into the country's early days and how people dealt with the austerity and rationing. Agnon House celebrates 80 years for the publication of the book “A guest for the night”; one of Agnon’s best works and one of the top literary works in the Hebrew language in general. The story is based on the author's own story and character. The Jerusalem Baroque Orchestra plays music in periodical instruments, and using techniques and performance methods to suit. The orchestra has a new fall concerts that will make you wish to you could dive back in time. The concerts’ season will include: Shepherds and Nymphs – a special concert that will be held at the Mormon University (September 8) and will include shepherds’ songs, pastorals and love songs. In November, the official season will be open with the concert of Bach’s “The Brandenburgs” (November 4, YMCA) and later the orchestra will perform the “La liberazione di Ruggiero” (December 22, YMCA) – a fully staged opera, with soloists from the “Meitar Opera Studio” from the Israeli Opera. The Open Houses event returns to Jerusalem with dozens of welcoming houses, architectural gems and special events The project, already a tradition, is high on the list of the most intriguing and fascinating events in the city. As it is every year, the event has an exciting eclectic program that includes rare visits and tours of buildings that have never been opened to the general public. The Jerusalem Architecture and Design Festival opens a window into hidden worlds, allowing visitors to see hidden architectural treasures, and dive into surprising spaces, some of which are not well known or approachable. For three consecutive days, dozens of private homes and spectacular buildings of special architectural value will be opened for visits. Different architectural tours, exhibitions and meetings on the topic will also be held. During the urban celebration guests are invited to visit private homes, meet the people who live in them and hear the story of the house; join tours of historic buildings, churches and public buildings and meet the planning architects, staff and people living in them. Veiled Women of the Holy Land – the phenomenon of Jewish and Muslim women covering their bodies to express religious piety and strict modesty has spread greatly in recent decades. This exhibition presents 13 sets of clothing of the various groups, accompanied by texts and photographs, dealing with the symbolic meanings of the modest clothes. In the film by director Ari Teperberg, women from the three religions shed light on their world view and the dress that is an inseparable part of it. Veiled Women © Yael Gadot Peter and Pan: from Ancient Greece to Neverland – This exhibition deals with the reincarnation of the God Pan, the peaceful and pastoral nature God, and the character of Peter Pan, the eternal child who refuses to grow and mature from James Barry's immortal work. The story of the two, in light of the times in which their characters "lived", is told with archeological artifacts such as ancient statues, reliefs and murals, along with early editions of Peter Pan's books, movies and fairy tales. Jewelry Making: Past & Present, a new exhibition at the Museum of Islamic Art, presents a thousand years of jewelry making that maintains a fascinating dialogue between cultures, religions, past and present. Forty-five Israeli jewelers display contemporary wearable art, which corresponds to Islamic jewelry from the museum's collection, and expands the boundaries of traditional jewelry making. Jerusalem is a complex and hypnotic city, which does not cease to surprise and challenge its visitors. The more you look, the more you realize that the city’s story is infinite, winding, writing and retelling itself again and again in different ways.
