Broadway tickets can cost a small fortune, but at least they can now score you a free cocktail before curtain call.
Langan’s, the recently revived Irish restaurant and bar in the Theater District, is pouring complimentary espresso martinis for theatergoers. To claim one, diners simply need to show a ticket for that evening’s Broadway performance.
The offer is available at the new Langan’s at 114 West 47th Street, conveniently located near Times Square and a short walk from many Broadway theaters. The restaurant has promoted the drink as both an espresso martini and an Irish coffee martini, so expect a slightly Irish spin on the modern classic—but either way, it should provide enough caffeine to prevent any mid-show nodding off.

The cocktail deal makes a persuasive case for turning a Broadway outing into a full dinner-and-a-show affair. Langan’s menu combines familiar Irish comfort food with steakhouse staples and contemporary bar fare. Options include Dublin Bay chowder beneath a puff pastry crust, Reuben spring rolls, Irish sausage rolls and lamb ribs with a honey, lemon and pistachio glaze.
For something more substantial, there is shepherd’s pie made with Wagyu ground beef, fish and chips, bangers and mash and Gaelic chicken served with scallion whipped potatoes and a brandied wild mushroom cream sauce. The menu also covers classic burgers, a corned beef Reuben, lobster ravioli and a $52 New York strip steak with fries.
Langan’s was originally established by John Mahon and Desmond O’Brien in 1992 and became a popular Midtown gathering place for theatergoers, journalists and assorted boldface names. The original restaurant closed in 2018 after 25 years, but a new version opened half a block from its former home, restoring the Langan’s name to West 47th Street.
Night owls even have another theater-related option after the final bow. Guests who show a Playbill after 9 pm can order two cocktails from the restaurant’s signature menu and a sticky toffee pudding for $40 through its Broadway Night Cap offer. That is a separate deal from the complimentary pre-show martini, but it does mean your ticket can keep working long after the orchestra packs up.
Suddenly, spending hundreds of dollars to see a musical comes with a caffeinated little consolation prize.
