The 50 has unveiled its longlist of the planet’s most impressive places to eat, ahead of their swanky ceremony in Peru – let’s take a look

Every year, The 50 (formerly known as World’s 50 Best) produces a list of the 50 best restaurants across the planet, which this year is set to be announced at a ceremony in Lima.
However, the prestigious body also unveils an extended version – the restaurants ranked 51-100 best in the world – and for 2026, we finally know which ones have been included.
Uliassi, a shack turned family-run seafood restaurant in Senigallia, Italy, is one of the 20 European restaurants to claim a coveted spot in the top 100. The 50’s junior content editor Olivia Simpson explains that ‘Chef Mauro Uliassi’s menu is rooted in the interplay between smell, memory and taste: for example, his smoked pasta with clams was born from a memory of walking past pop-up seafood grills on Rimini’s beaches.’ Sounds delightful, doesn’t it?
In Asia, 17 restaurants made the list. In 93rd place is Lambre, a Beijing restaurant and a brand-new entry to the coveted ranking, which only uses plant-based ingredients. The owner Zhao Jia and chef Dia Jun are at the forefront of China’s vegetarian food scene, and according to The 50, their menu blends swish fine-dining with traditional Chinese cooking methods.
In place number 79 is a restaurant repping North America, Huniik. It’s ‘one of the most evocative gastronomic experiences Mérida has to offer’, and it’s where you’ll get to enjoy a contemporary take on Yucatán food – which traditionally comprises a blend of Mayan dishes as well as Spanish Colonial and Caribbean influences.
