If IMAX summer was all about Christopher Nolan's Greek epic The Odyssey, this year will close off an equally majestic note with Dune: Part Three. With Timothée Chalamet returning as the messianic hero Paul Atreides, the film continues the action-packed power struggles engulfing the desert dystopias from Frank Herbert's classic sci-fi novels.
This third chapter in Denis Villeneuve’s blockbuster franchise is largely filmed on IMAX-certified cameras with some scenes particularly shot on 70m IMAX film.The result promises to be a grand screen spectacle with increased screen size (with 1.43:1 aspect ratio), more organic textures and intricate visual detail.
And going by Villeneuve's past two Dune films, this concluding chapter is bound to enthrall audiences with an all-star ensemble cast, Hans Zimmer's grandiose score, and the harshly glorious desert locations. But like The Odyssey, there are only select few venues all over the world that can screen the film in this pristine format.
Where can I watch Dune: Part Three in 70mm IMAX?
As most cinemas have shifted to digital formats, it's very rare and expensive to have screens equipped with the complex equipment and trained projections to screen a film in this format. In the UK, these are the three venues that will screen Dune: Part Three in all its sandworm-riding glory:

- The Ronson Theatre at the Science Museum, London
- Vue Manchester Printworks, Manchester
How can I get my 70mm IMAX tickets for Dune: Part Three?
Tickets for BFI IMAX's 70mm shows vanished within minutes and currently, the tickets for the first three days of release (December 18-20) remain sold out. There's no need to fret though as BFI has confirmed that more 70mm IMAX tickets will go on sale later this year.
As for the other two venues, pre-release sales haven't started yet. So, it's best to register for email alerts from the Science Museum's Ronson Theatre or keep an eye on the Vue Manchester Printworks’ social feeds.
