Things to do in Mumbai this week

Prepare for a reality-bending dose of spooky fun at Paradox Museum Mumbai this Halloween. The Twisted Halloween will transform the museum with pumpkins, cobwebs, photo ops and smoky effects, along with monster-feeding games, face painting and Halloween Ping Pong. These are all part of the space’s daytime celebrations. Meanwhile, the after dark fun – Trick, Treat & Twist Nights – brings two exclusive Halloween parties featuring a special museum tour,  a live illusionist, interactive games, music and dancing and a Halloween-inspired buffet with mocktails.

Mexican artist José Zendejas Foyo debuts in India with a solo exhibition at Anupa Mehta Contemporary Art (AMCA) in Colaba: Amores (meaning 'Loves'). This exhibition explores the multiple ways of experiencing love – toxic, fleeting romance, the ones we lost, and idealised relationships. The art show invites viewers – whether you’re a contemporary art lover or simply exploring various forms of art – to connect with these emotions through colour, mood and memory through the painter's work.

JSW and Gujral Foundation bring Satish Gujral: The Modernist Returns exhibition, bringing over 100 artworks spanning paintings, sculpture, drawing, mixed media and architecture. Curated by Pramod KG, this landmark exhibition traces Gujral’s incredible journey across disciplines and photographs, personal archives, and more. The presentation at Modern Art Gallery explores the artist’s formative years in Mumbai and his experiences of encounters with Mexican muralists and Partition. It will also feature a panel discussion and walkthroughs, screenings, and artist engagements.
