The latest outlet at Sky City Mall takes cues from the suburb’s East Indian roots and proximity to Sanjay Gandhi National Park

Mumbai’s ‘last stop’ gets a new hangout spot. SOCIAL opens its newest outlet at Sky City Mall in Borivali, beginning a blend of coffee, mocktails, cocktails, food, and community you are familiar with. But this isn’t just another pin on the brand’s ever-growing map. This SOCIAL outlet is built around the thought ‘the last stop to many starts’ – it looks beyond the railway line and celebrates the neighbourhood’s multiple identities, cultures and histories.
Borivali is a suburb of delightful contradictions: ancient Buddhist caves sit alongside glass buildings, old villages continue to hold amid newer developments, and forest trails are a short distance away from railway tracks. From Vazira, Poisar and Eksar to Shimpoli and Magathane, each area has its own character. The newest SOCIAL outpost takes its inspiration from this blend, drawing on Borivali’s proximity to Sanjay Gandhi National Park (SGNP), East Indian roots, coastal connections, Gujarati influences and more.
These inspirations – Svalbard Global Seed Vault and Borivali’s relationship with SGNP – can be noticed inside Borivali SOCIAL on the Sky City Mall rooftop. When it comes to the interiors, think of it as a playful archive of the natural world, reimagined as an urban hangout spot – Botanical impressions, preserved specimens turned into art, archival drawers documenting, plus X-ray-inspired tables.
You’ll find familiar flavours from the SOCIAL favourite menu, including Fully Re-loaded Nachos (ensure you don’t miss out on the Salsa), Bombay Bhelpuri Salad, China Box and Paneer Makhani Biryani. For daytime pit stops, there are mocktails, matcha and coffee – ideal choices if you’re catching up with a friend or taking a break from shopping for sitting down for a longer convo.
The cocktails take centre stage here. For your evening plans, Borivali SOCIAL brings a lineup of signature pours: crowd-favorite Banarasi Patiala, Grenade and LLIIT, allowing the space for an easy transition from a daytime cafe to after-hours hangout spots
With Borivali SOCIAL, the brand is putting the Mumbai suburb’s local tales and communities at the centre of its Sky City Mall outpost. So, while Borivali might be the last stop on a railway route for some, it could be the beginning of your next catch-up.
