One of two Montreal transit strikes has officially come to an end.
The STM has confirmed that the suspension of the maintenance workers’ strike will allow it to resume uninterrupted service starting Wednesday morning.
Maintenance workers have officially halted the strike, the return to normal operations will be gradual.
The union representing the 2,400 maintenance employees, affiliated with the CSN, announced that the strike—ongoing since early November—will be suspended at 6 a.m. on Wednesday to give negotiations a chance to move forward.
Bus service was said to start at 6:15 a.m. and metro service at 6:30 a.m.
Is the STM strike over in Montreal?
The Syndicat des chauffeurs, des opérateurs et des agents de station has given strike notice for November 15 and 16, 2025.
This means there could be zero bus or metro services this weekend.
While the end of the strike from the Syndicat du transport de Montréal (maintenance workers) has been reached, the strike notice for Drivers, Operators and Station Agents for November 15 and 16, 2025, remains.
An update on the strike notice for November 15 and 16, 2025, will be announced as soon as the Administrative Labour Tribunal (TAT) renders its decision.

When will public transit resume?
STM buses will start running through the streets of the city at 6:15 a.m., while metro trains will be in service starting at 6:30 a.m.
There will be no interruptions outside of peak hours.
