This Canadian province will never again turn their clocks back in November.

Which province is adopting permanent daylight saving time?

According to a report by the CBC, March 8, 2026, will be the final clock change for most British Columbians.

For more than 70 years, most British Columbians followed daylight saving time, springing their clocks forward in March and falling back to standard time in November.

After years of pledges and mounting research showing that changing the clocks harms people’s health, B.C. has finally opted to adopt a permanent time zone.

This move aligns with Yukon's 2020 shift.

What is B.C.’s new time zone?

B.C. will remain in Pacific Time year-round, seven hours behind Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) — the same as the Yukon.

Currently, on Saturdays, most of B.C. observes Pacific Standard Time, the same time zone as Washington State and California during the winter months.
