Voodoo Doughnut, the cult-favorite shop that built a following on wild flavors and long lines, is opening its first-ever Miami location on February 19 in Wynwood.
Born in Portland, Oregon in 2003, Voodoo Doughnut quickly became a hit with its more than 30 doughnut flavors—served in a bright pink box—and has since expanded to Austin and Orlando. Now the 305 can check out why the brand’s motto is “good things come in pink boxes,” and the opening comes with plenty of fanfare.
The doors officially open at 10am with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, but you’ll want to get there early. The first 200 guests in line will score a free Fate & Fortune Doughnut. Hidden inside 10 of them is the elusive Pink Fortune Filling, which wins you free doughnuts for a year. On top of that, the first 26 guests who make a purchase will receive a Voodoo Pink Gift Bag filled with merch and goodies to celebrate the brand’s 26th location.

As for the doughnuts themselves, expect the classics that made Voodoo famous. There’s the bacon maple bar, a raised doughnut with maple frosting and crispy bacon. The Oh Captain, My Captain comes topped with Cap’n Crunch cereal. The Memphis Mafia piles on banana chunks, cinnamon, chocolate chips and a peanut butter drizzle. You’ll also find the playful Voodoo Doll, the colorful Grape Ape and several vegan options.
Of course Miami will have an exclusive flavor too. The Wynwood shop will debut the Sublime Key Lime doughnut, a fan-voted flavor available through March 31. It’s dipped in key lime frosting, topped with tart key lime fluff and finished with crushed golden graham cracker crumbles. Partial proceeds from each Sublime Key Lime doughnut sold will benefit NAMI Miami-Dade County.
In fact, community support is baked into opening day. Twenty percent of all February 19 proceeds will go directly to NAMI Miami-Dade County to support mental health initiatives.
Beyond the delectable doughnuts, Voodoo is known for its whimsical décor and the option to host an offbeat wedding ceremony inside its pink-walled shops. Plan for some photo ops as you satisfy your sweet tooth. After opening day, the shop will operate almost around the clock, from 6am to 3am daily.
