A cardboard operating room, stop-motion animatronics and felted human hearts await on a surgeon's table. It sounds like a fever dream, but it’s actually a display of the painstaking craft behind Olivia Rodrigo's visually striking lead single off her latest album, You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love. Beginning Wednesday, September 2, fans can step inside the music video for "The Cure" at the Grammy Museum’s newest exhibit, "Olivia Rodrigo: the cure unraveled" (running through February 22, 2027).
If you were captivated by the surreal visuals for "The Cure," prepare to view the artistry up close. Directed by Cat Solen and Jaime Gerin, the video drops Rodrigo into a handcrafted hospital where she operates on felted human hearts inside the "OR". Production designer Liam Moore constructed the world almost entirely by hand out of cardboard, paint, miniatures and stop-motion magic—and now those exact sets are on display.

Highlights of the exhibit include outfits, props and plenty of photo ops. See up close the actual nurse costume Rodrigo wore on set. Take a look at the miniature "OR" set and the animatronic, beating felt hearts featured in the video. View original storyboards, handwritten process notes and hand-stitched album packaging artwork. Take pics in the interactive sets and browse unpublished set photography.
The exhibition kicks off with a sold-out launch event on September 1, featuring a live performance and a conversation with Rodrigo herself—who was last seen leading this weekend's viral Daisy Chain Fields music festival—about You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love to benefit the museum's music education programs.
