If you’re lucky enough to be catching Coldplay at Wembley in the coming weeks, you’re part of what’s set to be a record-breaking crowd – once they complete their 10 nights in the northwest London stadium, the band will officially have played more gigs there in a single tour than anyone else. In short, by going to one of these shows, you’re helping make history.
If that sounds exciting, it’s because it definitely is. We’re sure that you want your evening to go as smoothly as possible, because you’re there to sing along to ‘Viva la Vida’ with nearly 100,000 other fans, not wait at security for an hour because your bag’s slightly the wrong size.
That’s where we can help. We’ve got everything you need to know about the bag policy and banned items for Coldplay’s upcoming Wembley concerts all in one place – right here. Here’s everything you need to know.

Coldplay Wembley bag policy
The standard bag policy for stadiums and arenas remains in place at Wembley: everyone is allowed one small bag each. The dimensions of a ‘small bag’ are:
- Height 297mm (11.7 inches)
- Width 210mm (8.27 inches)
- Depth 210mm (8.27 inches)
There are two exceptions to this rule. If you need a bigger bag for medical reasons that is fine, but you need to let the stadium know in advance – you can do that here. You can also bring in any merchandise that you purchased outside of the stadium, but only if the bag is sealed.
Does Wembley have a bag drop?
For the Coldplay shows, the stadium itself will not have an official bag drop or cloakroom.
Large bags won’t be allowed in, so if it’s at all possible leave them at home. If for some reason you have to bring a suitcase or oversized bag with you, have a look at luggage storage facilities in the nearby area.
What size bag can I bring into Wembley Stadium?
Wembley allows for one ‘small’ bag per person, which it considers to be anything the size of an A4 sheet of paper or smaller.
Are there any banned items?
You can’t bring just anything inside your A4 sized bag. Obviously, illegal items such as weapons, explosives, and even fireworks are going to get confiscated at the door, but there’s a big list of other stuff which is not welcome. Here’s everything that’s banned from the stadium:
- Unlicensed musical instruments: trumpets, drums, and other devices capable of causing a disturbance or nuisance, including vuvuzelas & megaphones.
- Flag poles greater than 1m in length
- Laser devices
- Bottles, Glass Vessels (including Perfume bottles)
