Peng Leng Jeng x Kinsman Happy Together

It only makes sense that two F&B outlets whose very identities are giant love letters to Hong Kong will collaborate eventually. On July 31, Gavin Yeung from everyone’s favourite Cantonese cocktail bar Kinsman will take over the bar at the hottest dai pai dong pop-up in town, Peng Leng Jeng. There will be three exclusive cocktails that channel the energy of a fiery wok, and also a zero-proof creation so everyone can enjoy. Even if you miss the night when Yeung is personally behind the stick, his drinks will stay on the menu for two weeks.

Peng Leng Jeng and Ho Lee Fook’s chef Archan Chan will return the favour on August 14, bringing her Cantonese dishes to Kinsman’s kitchen and even mixing up her own cheeky cocktail to go with the bites. If you love Hong Kong and its dazzling flavours, we’ll see you there!

In case you’ve been living under a rock, the little critters from Chiikawa are arguably the most popular animated characters of the moment, due to their adorable looks and quirky personalities. From their large-scale exhibition to their collaboration with McDonald’s, these animated characters have taken the city by storm.

Ever experienced that surge of cute aggression where you just want to bite something because it’s so adorable? Hong Kong’s notoriously expensive rents, paired with a faltering economy and locals preferring to head across the border to Shenzhen for cheaper leisure activities, have meant a slew of closures in our restaurants, shops, and businesses this year. Unfortunately, here’s another one to add to the list: the Metropol Restaurant.

Sitting on the fourth floor of United Centre, right across from exit D of Admiralty MTR station, Metropol Restaurant has fed Hong Kong’s diners for 35 years since opening in 1990. It is one of the few remaining restaurants in the city that serve dim sum out of traditional trolleys. Find more details about Metropol's closing by reading our blog here.
