Koff & Bun

Koff & Bun occupies a converted shophouse, all exposed brick, wooden tables and the low hum of a hard-working espresso machine. Its coffee pedigree includes the 2018 Thailand National Roasting Championship, and the menu ranges from espresso and Americano to Brazil-Laos and 2449 Thailand house blends, both favouring chocolate and caramel over bright acidity. The reason to stop, though, is the pairing: traditional Chinese steamed buns – black sesame, custard, salted egg and pork among them – served with specialty coffee. Old and new share a plate on a street whose revival rests on exactly that combination.
