Join a monthly boat-based clean-up to help clear one of Bangkok’s key flood-control waterways

Fancy a free boat ride with a useful purpose? Get Lost in Volunteer & Beyond is taking volunteers onto Bangkok’s Lat Phrao Canal for its monthly clean-up. You’ll collect rubbish from a waterway that helps protect the city from flooding. No experience is needed; gloves and the boat ride are provided.
Lat Phrao Canal runs through Bangkok and forms part of the city’s flood-control system, carrying rainwater during the rainy season.
Bangkok grew around its canals, but decades of urbanisation have left many polluted. Rubbish blocks water flow, making it harder for canals to drain efficiently during heavy rain.
Get Lost in Volunteer & Beyond runs the clean-up each month. Wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty; gloves and the boat ride are supplied.
The schedule:
8:40am: Meet at Airport Rail Link Ramkhamhaeng Station
9:00am: Arrival at Lat Phrao Canal
9:15am: Welcome, activity overview and safety briefing
9:30am: Canal clean-up begins
10:45am: Group photo and wrap-up
11:00am: Finish
It is a small, practical way to spend a Bangkok morning – and the free boat ride is a decent bonus.
