What does queer intimacy look like when desire and distance exist? Intimate Elsewhere brings together five emerging Southeast Asian artists – Lucas Tan, Mark Hernandez, Thom Nguyen, Theerathat Thongbai and ACHI – to consider longing, memory, identity and place. Tan photographs seductive yet vulnerable poses shaped by dating-app culture, while Hernandez shows two people sharing a room but looking in opposite directions. Nguyen reworks traditional Asian painting through queer identities, while Theerathat and ACHI explore loss, nostalgia, spirituality and the body in landscapes and imagined spaces.
