Ready for somewhere stranger than the average gallery visit? EXTRA UNIVERSE brings together work by 50 artists from 21/3 Studio at MOCA Museum of Contemporary Art, turning familiar things into unexpected forms. Rainbows appear without skies, homes have neither doors nor roofs and repeated paintings record days passing one layer at a time. Some works are packed with flowers, people and polka dots, while others keep things wonderfully simple. Instead of demanding a single interpretation, the exhibition asks visitors to see through the artists’ eyes and notice the small details that catch their attention.
