Time Out says

The Great Kaplan Family Magic Show has the right ingredients for a genuinely fun family outing: magic, juggling and physical comedy, packed into an hour that should hold the attention of kids without completely losing the adults. As part of the DC Festival of Magic, it has a little more going for it than a standard children's matinee, particularly for families who want to make an afternoon of the festival. The intimate format is another plus. Rather than disappearing into a huge theater, the performance takes place in the Capital Hilton, where the close quarters should make the sleight of hand and juggling easier to appreciate. There are two performances on September 6, at 1pm and 3pm, so it is easy to fit around the rest of a Labor Day weekend. At $15, it is also a relatively low-stakes way to try something different with the kids.
