1. Best for an urban detox: The secluded log cabin in the meadow

Area: Tetonia, Idaho (1h 15min from Jackson Hole)
It might not be The Sound of Music’s Bavarian Alps, but it’s pretty damn close. This picture-perfect log cabin sits across the Wyoming border in Idaho and offers two bedrooms, one bathroom and one hell of a view. You’re in a meadow surrounded by long grass and wildflowers, with a front-row view to the epid Tetons. Inside, is a full kitchen and breakfast bar; a homey living room with a big, black comfy leather couch, fire place and TV; and the most comfortable beds to cradle you to sleep after a long day of outdoor exploring. This is seclusion and isolation at its finest.
Time Out tip: There’s nothing quite like a homemade breakfast on the patio with this view, but if you’d rather get fed, visit The Badger Creek Cafe in town, and order the green chili and pork scrambled eggs.
Sleeps: Six.
Perks: Why do your neighbors have such long faces? Because they’re horses. You’re next to a horse farm.
Price: From $351 per night. Two-night minimum.
