The teaser for ‘The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon’ final season is out and it unveils a new key character

Though we won't be seeing the new episodes until next year (more on that in a minute), The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon is drumming up hype for its fourth and final season with a teaser that unveils a new, key character.

Here's everything you need to know about the upcoming installment of The Walking Dead spinoff series, which centers on the fan-favorite, crossbow-firing southerner Daryl Dixon, played by Norman Reedus. 

What will The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon season 4 be about?

While crossing the ravaged badlands of Spain, Daryl (Reedus) and Carol (Melissa McBride) “grasp onto hope—and each other—as uncertainty about their future grows,” reads the logline for the final season of AMC's post-apocalyptic horror drama. “Captain Alejandro Perkins (Jimmy Smits of NYPD Blue, The West Wing) is a former U.S. Navy officer and medical doctor who found a unique way to thrive during the apocalypse.”

The trailer opens with an injured Daryl, who has flashbacks to mobs of horrible zombies attacking him and Carol, until he opens his eyes to what we can assume is Captain Perkins, welcoming him “home.”

Who is in The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon season 4 cast?

Along with the aforementioned Reedus, McBride and cast newcomer Smits, the fourth season of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon also stars Romain Levi as Stéphane, Eduardo Noriega as Antonio, Óscar Jaenada as Fede, Candela Saitta as Justina and Hugo Arbués as Roberto.

The series is executive produced by showrunner David Zabel as well as Scott M. Gimple, Reedus, McBride, Greg Nicotero, Brian Bockrath, Angela Kang, Jason Richman, Dan Percival and Steve Squillante. 

When will The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon season 4 premiere?

Sadly, we don't have a set premiere date just yet for The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon season 4; we only know that it is set to premiere in 2027 and that the fourth season will be comprised of eight episodes. Stay tuned for the release date so you don’t miss a single zombie kill.
