'The Pitt' season 3 trailer is here—and reveals Dr. Robby's fate

The long wait is over (unlike in that damned ER waiting room) for The Pitt's season 3 trailer.

This past Friday, HBO Max unveiled a lot in just a one-minute trailer for the award-winning show's next season, including what happened to Dr. Michael “Robby” Robinavitch (played by Noah Wyle).

What is The Pitt season 3 about?

The Pitt season 3 will reportedly pick up four months after we left off in season 2, which finished airing on November 12, 2026. Dr. Robby has returned from his sabbatical, which much of the fandom worried would be the last we'd see of him given his fragile mental state. This time around, we'll see cold weather-related injuries, from black-ice-induced car crashes to hypothermia and more across 12 in-real-time hours.

Who is in The Pitt season 3 cast?

Aside from Noah Wyle, we will see returning actors including Patrick Ball (as Dr. Langdon), Katherine LaNasa (Dana Evans), Fiona Dourif (Dr. McKay), Taylor Dearden (Dr. King), Isa Briones (Dr. Santos), Gerran Howell (Dr. Whitaker), Shabana Azeez (Javadi), Ayesha Harris (Dr. Ellis), Sepideh Moafi (Dr. Al-Hashimi) and Shawn Hatosy (Dr. Abbot).

The trailer gives us a lot of information: Dr. Robby is back; we get to see more of the night crew (Dr. Abbot specifically); Dr. Langdon and Dr. Robby are at least on amicable-but-awkward terms; and a lot of bloody chaos lies ahead.

When does The Pitt season 3 premiere?

The Pitt premieres in January 2027 on HBO Max. An exact day has not yet been announced, but Time Out will keep you posted!
