A McKinley High reunion is in the works!
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, acclaimed TV writer Ryan Murphy, co-creator of the 2010s-era jukebox musical dramedy Glee, spilled some major tea for “Gleeks”: there’s a reboot script—and 10 original cast members are interested in bringing it to life.

“Well, funny you ask, cause I just finished the script an hour ago,” he told the outlet. “So, we have a script. Brad [Falchuk], Ian [Brennan] and I, who wrote all the first two seasons, have written something. I’ve been in touch with around 10 of the original cast members. It’s very sweet, and they all had a lot of questions, but they all were very enthusiastic about the idea.”
He added that nobody’s read it yet, but he wanted to see what the cast thought “‘cause we were very close when we were making it.”

Glee, which ran from 2009 to 2015, followed McKinley High School’s newly-formed glee club, New Directions, and its teacher Will Schuester (Matthew Morrison) as they attempted to exist as a lower-status club full of geeks and nerds. It featured both group performances and situational covers of popular pop, rock and Broadway songs that were woven into highly-dramatic high school situations.
In addition to Morrison, the cast included Jane Lynch (cheerleading coach Sue Sylvester), Jayma Mays (guidance counselor Emma Pillsbury, (Jessalyn Gilsig) Will's wife Terri, and, originally eight club members: Dianna Agron, Chris Colfer, Kevin McHale, Lea Michele, Cory Monteith, Amber Riley, Mark Salling, and Jenna Ushkowitz.
Murphy said earlier this year that the show has made a comeback. “So many young people now watch it,” he told People. “And I’m like, ‘Maybe we should revisit that show.’”
