Another mystery is about to unfold in the air.
Netflix just gave the green light to Arrivals: A New Manifest Mystery, a spinoff of the Manifest universe that’ll follow more flight passengers who are facing a reality crisis.

Manifest launched on NBC in September 2018, starring Melissa Roxburgh, Josh Dallas, Athena Karkanis, J.R. Ramirez, Luna Blaise, Jack Messina, Parveen Kaur, Matt Long and Holly Taylor, but the network canceled the show in 2021 after three seasons. Netflix then swooped in and picked it up for a fourth and final season.
That proved successful: all four seasons of the show got more than 130 million views since the first half of 2023, Netflix notes. Season 4 spent 9 weeks in the Global Top 10 English TV list and hit #1 in over 90 countries tracked.
So it makes sense then why the streamer would want more.
Where NBC’s Manifest saw a plane mysteriously disappear and return five and a half years later and its passengers unaware and unaffected, Arrivals is about the passengers of a plane crash in Denver who don’t know who they are, where they came from or why they’re here, according to its logline: “A young social worker and a novice Homeland Security agent team up with the new arrivals in an attempt to stop a humanity-ending catastrophe, discovering along the way that they are all part of the very puzzle they’re trying to solve.”
Manifest creator and showrunner Jeff Rake is coming back with the original series’ co-executive producers Margaret Easley and Laura Putney to co-create and co-showrun while Warner Bros. is the studio behind it. Others behind the show includes Robert Zemeckis (Forrest Gump, Back to the Future) Jack Rapke (Cast Away, Flight) and Len Goldstein (Hart of Dixie) and Jacqueline Levine (Project Blue Book).
“I’m delighted to be able to tell a new story for the Manifest fans out there and also for a brand-new audience,” Rake tells Tudum. “It’s been five long years since we showed up on Netflix, and there’s probably half a generation who has never heard of Manifest. We’ve tried to thread the needle in a way that’s rewarding for the OG Manifest fans, but also equally rewarding for people who are brand new to the show.”
