Written and directed by David Robert Mitchell (It Follows, Under the Silver Lake), The End of Oak Street is a suburban horror story that pits dinosaurs against humans. Since hitting theaters on August 14, the creature feature received positive reaction from critics. "Tapping into the primal pleasures of the classic creature feature, The End of Oak Street is pulpy good fun carried off with a light touch and a sharp bite," reads the critical consensus over on Rotten Tomatoes, where the movie has an 86% approval rating,

What is The End of Oak Street synopsis?
"After a mysterious cosmic event rips Oak Street from suburbia and transports their neighborhood to someplace unknown, the Platt family soon discovers that their very survival depends on them sticking together as they navigate their now unrecognizable surroundings," the logline reads.
The Platts—struggling dad Greg (McGregor), hopeful author Denise (Hathaway) and their two kids played by Maisy Stella and Christian Convery—are on the rocks already when they wake up in 200 million BC.
It's a cheesy premise, for sure, but reviewers say it's a pretty heavy watch. Time Out's freelance film critic, Dan Jolin, said: "This is harsh, brutal and, at times, traumatic stuff," but called it a B-movie.
Sure enough, it has a “B” grade on CinemaScore and 84% on Rotten Tomatoes.
Regardless, if you're looking for something wildly entertaining, it may just be the film you need.
