The horrors persist: FX just renewed Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk’s American Horror Story, meaning the spooky anthology series will officially be back for a 14th installment.

A hit since it launched in 2011, AHS has featured a creepy murder house, a coven of witches, a traveling freak show, a haunted hotel and the apocalypse. What more could it scare us with?

Apparently a lot! Here's everything we know so far about American Horror Story season 14.

Will there be a season 14 of American Horror Story?

Yes! FX announced its renewal American Horror Story for a 14th season on October 20, just ahead of the season 13 finale.

The season 14 pick-up wasn't exactly expected. According to Deadline, this is the first renewal for American Horror Story in about seven years. In 2020, the show got a three-season pickup for Seasons 11, 12 and 13, which made it sound like season 13 would be its last—fitting.

When will American Horror Story season 14 premiere?

We don’t know yet—season 13 is still currently underway and there’s no information yet on when production will start.

Why did AHS already get renewed?

It’s doing really well: The AHS: 13 premiere made it to Nielsen’s Streaming Top 10 charts and represented Ryan Murphy’s biggest launch ever on Hulu and Disney+.

According to FX, the show is what started the modern-day limited series format and it’s the network’s longest running hour-long series. It’s gotten 100 Emmy nominations and 17 wins since its launch in 2011, including for Jessica Lange, Kathy Bates and James Cromwell.

The franchise has generated nearly 2 billion hours of engagement globally since its launch in 2011. So… that’s why!

Who is in the cast of American Horror Story season 14?

No official cast announcements have been made yet for season 14 but knowing the history of AHS, the powers that be are big fans of re-collaboration.

That said, the 13th installment stars Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates, Emma Roberts, Billie Lourd, Gabourey Sidibe, Leslie Grossman, Joey Pollari and Jessica Lange. The epic cast also features Avantika, Jamie Brewer, Elle Chapman, Berto Colon, Alex Consani, Frances Conroy, Mat Fraser, Seth Gabel, Orlando Jones, Paul Anthony Kelly, John Carroll Lynch, Tig Notaro, Madelaine Petsch, Fedor Steer, Mena Suvari, Zach Villa, John Waters and more. So we wouldn't be surprised if a few (or a lot) of those familiar faces pop up next season.
