Since it was founded in 2017, TRNSMT has been Scotland’s biggest music festival. Over the years it’s been headlined by some of the planet’s biggest rock, pop and hip-hop acts, with the likes of Stormzy, Radiohead, The Strokes and The Killers all taking top billing on Glasgow Green.
TRNSMT 2024 kicks off this weekend, and it’s sure to be a good ’un. Headliners include Liam Gallagher, Gerry Cinnamon and Calvin Harris but, as always, further down the line-up are other huge acts like The Last Dinner Party, Declan McKenna, Sugababes, Rick Astley and Natasha Bedingfield. A musical feast awaits.

When and where is TRNSMT festival 2024?
As always TRSNMT will be on Glasgow Green, taking place this year between July 12 and July 14 2024.
What time does TRNSMT festival open and close?
TRNSMT is not a camping festival, meaning you have to be out by a certain time each evening.
The festival ground will be active for 11 hours each day, with gates opening at 12pm and shutting at 11pm. Glasgow has a pretty great nightlife scene; if you’re looking for somewhere to head afterwards to keep the party going have a look at our guide to the city’s best bars and clubs here.
What’s this year’s lineup and who’s headlining?
This year’s headliners are appropriately Scottish. On Saturday and Sunday are Gerry Cinnamon and Calvin Harris respectively, and on Friday is Liam Gallagher, who loves Glasgow enough to basically be considered as an honorary Scot.

Are there any tickets left and how much are they?
If you’ve suddenly got the urge to join in on the fun this weekend, you’re in luck. There are still tickets available for all three days, as well as two-day and weekend tickets. Single days cost between £105-125, while a three day weekend pass will set you back £275. Buy ’em on Ticketmaster here.

Anything that’s giving ‘weaponry’ will be taken from you as you enter. On top of this, you can’t bring in any food or water, even if it’s unopened. Disposable, single use vapes will also be confiscated.

What does TRNSMT even stand for?
It stands for fun. It stands for joy in the face of adversity (Glasgow weather).
In reality, who knows. The organisers have never commented, but most people theorise that it’s just the word ‘transmit’ with all the vowels taken out. Sorry for the anticlimax.
What’s the weather forecast looking like?
The weather is looking alright. Today (Friday July 12), things should stay mostly dry with temperatures between 15C and 19C.
On Saturday (July 13), the weather will be much cloudier and be between 14C and 16C. While the day should be mostly dry, there’s a pretty decent chance of rain (30 percent to 40 percent) after 9pm.
Sunday is shaping up to have the weekend’s best weather. Between 15C and 18C, there’s only a 10 percent chance of rain and the Met Office even reckons TRNSMT may get some sunshine.
How to watch TRNSMT Festival on TV
Highlights from this year’s festival will be shown on both BBC One and BBC Scotland, while some full sets will be available to stream on iPlayer.
On BBC One, highlights will be shown tonight (well, technically extremely early tomorrow morning) from 12.10am to 2.10am. Saturday’s highlights will run from 11.45pm to 1.45am.

Will the festival show the Spain vs England Euro 2024 final game?
The festival hasn’t said that it will be showing the game. And given the fact that Scotland aren’t in the final, we wouldn’t expect the game to be shown. If you’re desperate to catch it, Glasgow city centre’s pubs and bars are nearby.
