A giant mikoshi has landed in front of Shibuya 109 – but with a rather unexpected twist. From September 7 to September 18, a mikoshi-shaped gacha machine has set up shop in Dogenzaka. For the uninitiated, a mikoshi is a portable shrine carried by festivalgoers during shrine festivities. But here, the mini shrine isn’t used to ferry gods, but is instead reimagined as a giant gacha ball capsule toy machine.
