Sometimes, it's pretty good when the name says it all. Brooklyn egg specialist (you guessed it) Egg's very first Japan outpost is located near Ikebukuro Station and serves up some very, very good ova. The menu centres on decidedly American, home-cooked soul food: take their popular Eggs Rothko, which sees a hole drilled into a brioche and filled with a sunny-side-up egg, after which the whole thing is liberally doused with molten cheddar. It's a heart attack on a plate, but you've never wanted it more in your life. Staples such as french toast appear too, while a Tokyo-only menu, curated by the head chef of the original Egg, is currently in the works.
