Time Out says

Having taken over the space vacated by long-running underground haunt Amate-Raxi, which closed down in August 2015 after eight years in Shibuya, Circus has been a real buzz-generator on the Tokyo club scene since opening in October last year. Expect plenty of deep beats with the occasional techno set mixed in.

Countdown at Circus Tokyo

A strong contender for the title of Tokyo’s most popular basement club, Circus Tokyo is putting on a live show and welcomes a strong DJ line-up for its New Year’s event. This year’s headliner is London Elektricity – an iconic producer in London’s drum-n-bass scene since the late 1990s. He will be joined by Makoto, a leading figure in Japanese D&B and a frequent collaborator with London Elektricity. The first-floor bar at Circus is good for mingling, but all of the dancing and revelling will be happening underground. Tickets are now on sale via Zaiko or RA.
