Time Out says

'Shibuya Archive Photo Exhibition 2026' showcases photos of the Shibuya area ranging from the early 1900s to the late 2010s. The collection is brought to you by the Commons Archive Collective, an organisation founded in 2021 that puts on exhibitions of its holdings, many of which feature Shibuya in some capacity.

This particular Shibuya-themed exhibition is in its fourth year. While the 2025 show featured 170 photos focusing on specific streets and places of cultural significance around Dogenzaka, Koen-dori, Center-gai and Shibuya Station, this year's edition shifts its focus to the people and activities that bring these streets to life. By layering the voices and oral histories of people who have spent time in Shibuya over streetscapes and photographs, the exhibition reveals aspects of the neighbourhood that cannot be captured through photography alone.

The exhibition takes place at 8/Court on the 8th floor of Shibuya Hikarie 11am-8pm on November 10-22, 11am-6pm on November 23. Entry to the exhibition is free of charge.
