Ready to plan your next getaway? Now’s the time. Qantas has officially launched its biggest domestic sale of the year, with more than two million discounted Economy and Business seats up for grabs across 101 routes and 60 destinations. And for Sydneysiders, there are a heap of cheap ways to escape the city, with flights from the Harbour City (including the new Western Sydney International Airport) starting at just $99 one-way.

The Flying Kangaroo’s massive Aussie sale kicked off this morning (August 18) and runs until Tuesday, August 25 at 11.59pm AEST, unless sold out prior. Not ready to jet just yet? The sale covers travel dates all the way through to August 2027, including peak periods such as Christmas and New Year, summer and winter school holidays, Easter and Anzac Day. Your future self will thank you for booking early.

The cheapest Sydney fares are just $99 one-way, with that price available on routes including Sydney to Ballina (for Byron Bay), Coffs Harbour, Dubbo, the Gold Coast, Orange and Tamworth. Heading interstate? Sydney to Brisbane and Melbourne starts from $119 one-way, while flights to the Sunshine Coast start at $139, Adelaide from $149 and Hobart from $159. There's also a particularly exciting new route in the sale: Qantas is offering $99 one-way fares from Sydney's new Western Sydney International Airport to Brisbane and Melbourne. These flights are due to start on March 28, 2027, subject to government and regulatory approval, so you'll need to wait a little while before you can put those cut-price fares to use.

Business Class is getting the sale treatment too, with fares from Sydney starting at $299 one-way. That includes Sydney to Brisbane, Canberra and the Gold Coast, while Business fares to Launceston start from $339 and Adelaide from $399.

The sale also extends well beyond Sydney's most popular routes, with Qantas offering discounted fares on regional services around the country. Among the $99 fares are Dubbo to Sydney, as well as routes connecting Adelaide with Kangaroo Island, Cairns with Townsville and Brisbane with Hervey Bay. And there's no need to budget extra for the onboard basics: Qantas says all sale fares include checked baggage and complimentary snacks and drinks. Just keep in mind that sale fares are subject to availability, selected travel dates and days apply, and discounted fares may not be available on every flight.

The Qantas Red Tail Sale runs until 11.59pm Tuesday, August 25, 2026, unless sold out prior. Keen? You can find out more and book over here.
