Revel in an all-American Christmas tradition as the Christmas Train Show at Gardens by the Bay returns for more trainspotting fun for all you railway buffs.
The second edition of the festive display features close to 20 model trains chugging along a 145-metre track through the Flower Dome, which will be transformed into an American-inspired landscape featuring mini versions of New York City’s Statue of Liberty, Grand Central Terminal and the iconic Golden Gate Bridge from San Francisco.
In conjunction with Singapore’s 60th birthday, this year’s theme adds a local twist to the classic holiday celebration. A specially commissioned replica of the SMRT train will ride past handcrafted landmarks, such as the Toa Payoh Dragon Playground, Supertrees and heritage shophouses, made from recycled Singapore wood. Additionally, the display will pay homage to Denmark by bringing the Danish Christmas scene to life with a 5-metre LEGO Christmas tree and a wintry miniature of Copenhagen’s Nyhavn harbour.
Surrounding the entire spectacle are more than 7,000 Christmas-themed flora and fauna. Think hollies, mistletoes, cyclamens and a variety of Christmas trees which will light up every night to complete the magical, festive vibes.
