Can you really spend an entire day at a Mercedes-Benz space without mostly talking about cars? We put the new Mercedes-Benz Studio Singapore to the test and found plenty to keep us occupied.

Set within the Bayfront Pavilion at Gardens by the Bay, the Studio is Mercedes-Benz's only one in Southeast Asia, joining a global line-up that includes destinations in Los Angeles, Copenhagen, Shanghai, Seoul and Tokyo. It brings automotive, culture, creativity, lifestyle and community experiences together under one sleek roof, with three interconnected areas – Canvas, Commune and Courtyard – each offering a different way to experience the brand.

Start in Commune, the social hub and café, where you can check out the Studio’s always-on pop-ups and collaborations. Get your coffee fix from Mad Roaster while you browse Mercedes-Benz’s limited-edition merchandise, latest innovations and product launches. And if you're looking to get your steps in first thing in the morning, join an Adidas Running Singapore run club session.

Also within the Studio, Canvas is home to Liquid Studio Singapore. This specially commissioned digital artwork by Singapore-based Metamo Industries creates a backdrop for Mercedes-Benz models.

What went down during the opening Community Weekend

During Community Weekend on August 29 and 30, we got our first taste of what the new space is all about, from wellness sessions and creative workshops to live music and cool collaborations.

We started with a drink from local opening partner Ferm, whose wild-fermented probiotic drinks included the Studio-exclusive Roselle Raspberry, a bandung-inspired concoction topped with condensed milk probiotic foam, and the Yuan Yang, which puts a contemporary spin on the familiar coffee-and-tea pairing.

Many also laced up for an early-morning run as part of a 16-week marathon training programme with Adidas Running Singapore, before recovering with compression boots and massage guns at Tundra’s Recovery Zone.

Then came Studio Wilt’s Lumen Print Workshop, where sunlight became the unlikely artistic tool, followed by a live silkscreen session with Tell Your Children and Konstrukt Labs. Over in the Courtyard, Wild Pearl kept things lively with live DJ sets running through sundown.

And that’s perhaps the most interesting thing about Mercedes-Benz Studio Singapore: there isn’t really a prescribed way to experience it. You can come for cool collaborations with local artists, stay for a drink, join in an art workshop, browse limited-edition merch or simply connect with the community.

Admission is complimentary and no appointment is required, although selected programmes may require advance registration or separate tickets. The Studio is open Wednesday and Friday from 4pm to 10pm, and Saturday and Sunday from 8am to 8pm. Find out more here.
