Singapore has done it again. Other than having over 30 restaurants in the Michelin Guide and 11 newly added hawker stalls in the Michelin Bib Gourmand lists for 2025, our country can now also claim a sparkling new set of Michelin Keys – seven of them, to be exact.
Michelin Keys are the hotel world’s equivalent of Michelin Stars – awarded to the most outstanding hotels across the globe. This year, over 7,000 hotels were part of the selection before being whittled down to the final list. There are five benchmarks applied during the selection process: excellence in architecture and interior design, quality and consistency of service, overall personality and character, value for money, and meaningful contribution to the neighbourhood or setting.
It’s the very first time that Singapore’s hotels have been named in the Michelin Key guide, and what a strong debut this is. Out of these, it’s – surprise, surprise – Raffles Hotel Singapore that’s been awarded the coveted Three Keys, which is the highest honour that can be received.
The remaining six hotels each received One Key, and the line-up includes noteworthy five-star names like Artyzen Singapore, PARKROYAL COLLECTION Pickering, and the brand-new Raffles Sentosa. That’s both Raffles properties on the list, but one can’t expect anything less from a luxury brand named after the founder of modern Singapore.
