Time Out says

Part of the Japan Airlines hotel chain, the 25-storey Nikko is incredibly popular with Japanese visitors but welcoming to all. The rooms and suites are large, bright and reasonably attractive, furnished with Frette linens, pillow-top beds and pale furniture. Elsewhere, the design is clean with Asian touches throughout - some subtle, some obvious. There's an indoor pool that lets in light through a glass ceiling, plus a gym and a kamaburo (dry Japanese sauna). The Anzu sushi bar and steakhouse isn't a bad place to eat; its Sunday jazz brunch buffet is a favourite.

What’s on

Endless Summer Pool Party

Endless Summer Pool Party is a rooftop escape built around the rare San Francisco luxury of a sunny afternoon by the water. Hosted at Hotel Nikko’s heated rooftop pool, the event pairs poolside lounging with DJ sets, cocktails and a laid-back summer crowd. The appeal is less about a traditional nightclub atmosphere and more about the chance to stretch out, listen to music and enjoy a side of the city that usually feels reserved for hotel guests. With a limited capacity and a focus on a curated daytime experience, it feels more like a private summer hang than a crowded party. It’s a good pick for anyone looking to swap the usual bar plans for something a little brighter, breezier and built around making the most of the season.
